Digital Blackbook (Graffiti Analysis 2.0)

1969


Great show at PS1 called 1969, which consists of archive works from every department of The MoMa. Mixed with works created in 1969, are young artists of today that raises questions that are present and absent in the exhibition. Artists commentators include The Bruce High Quality Foundation, Mathew Day Jackson and David Thompkins, stephanie Syjuco and Hank Willis Thomas.

Bill Viola is considered a pioneer in video art. Applies the medium to reveal the elements of human emotion, life and death. He uses both 1970's low budget surveillance camera and the latest High Def Camera marrying the technological gap between the ages. Slash



The Museum of Arts and Design has a great exhibition called Slash, paper under the knife, featuring about 50 artist that have been commissioned to create on site specific installations and pieces. Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to sneak in a photo, so you would have to actually 'go there' to experience the work.
