These characters (The Blue Men) can be classified as the shamans of the eternal spirit walk. Messengers and keepers of alchemic formulas.

¨ We can indulge in the magic of what´s inside the doorways of there super selves ¨.

Seen in their bare essentials (sometimes with pants sometimes with flip flops), all metaphors of disguise, they move between worlds via the French Caribbean houses and only the those that raise there vibrational force can communicate with them.

They mix the potions of above so below never showing there human faces and silently stalking the landscape aware of the unseen beauty and potential of human beings.

Logorama

Logorama is an animated short film written and directed by H5 / Francois Alaux, Hervé de Crecy and Ludovic Houplain. The film takes place in a world full of corporate and brand logos (in which roughly 2,500 appear), and it follows a few different stories that all intertwine with one another. It recently won the Oscar for Best animated Short film.

William Powhida

Brooklyn, NY, based William Powhida satirizes the art world from the perspective of an insider. He is blatant about dichotomies in society, and the contribution of celebrity worship. Powhida's work supports the belief that Pop culture and the avant-garde have melded.

In this detail from "ABMB Hooverville" (printed in The New York Times), he compares Art Basel Miami Beach, to a Hooverville. It was exhibited at Pulse Art, Miami, a satellite to the destination art fair.

Dan Perjovschi

Dan Perjovschi, Postcards from the World is at Lombard-Freid Projects through February 20th.

Perjovschi captures a multitude of expression with a minimum of line. He sums up poignant social and political commentaries into humorous cartoon-like sketches. Born in an autocratic Romania, now a renowned artist on the international circuit, these postcard sized drawings arranged in grids, are a narrative of his travels.

William Kentridge

Master draftsman William Kentridge uses alter egos Felix Teitlebaum and Soho Eckstein to explore issues of post-apartheid politics in his native South Africa. In this film, the reworking and erasure of charcoal drawings is documented with stop animation. While the characters survey and re-chart abused land, Kentridge defines a figurative role for the artist in society, that of healer.

The art of Tim Burton

 

I have never seen the MoMa so packed.  Last night, the museum was full of life, overflowing with contributors, special members and the die hard Tim Burton fans that lined up to see the special exhibition opening... it was hard to see the work between the crowd, wondering if there will ever be a quiet time to enjoy the work in silence... doubtful. Members preview Nov18-21st. Show opens to the public Nov 22-April 26th.

Chick Flick

"Chick" is a humorous true-life story about male-female relations. Infatuation and its consequences are depicted in a ironic way: meeting a guy, dancing, having fun, a sexual act. A man, giddy with the charm of a femme fatale, leaves a room. He is followed by failure and doom.

I met the Walrus

In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan snuck into John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced him to do an interview. 38 years later, Levitan, director Josh Raskin and illustrator James Braithwaite have collaborated to create an animated short film using the original interview recording as the soundtrack. A spellbinding vessel for Lennon's boundless wit and timeless message, I Met the Walrus was nominated for the 2008 Academy Award for Animated Short.
